Anchored in Nature: Yoga on Alyosha

Trip Summary

Breathe Deep, Float Easy — A Morning on the Water Like No Other

This is something completely different. Join a small group of up to 8 guests for a peaceful, nearly two-hour experience aboard Alyosha—our 50-foot sailing catamaran—anchored in a quiet bay surrounded by wildlife and natural beauty. No engines, no rushing, no agenda beyond calm.

After boarding and a quick safety briefing, we’ll get underway with about 20 minutes of warm introductions and connection as we cruise to our anchorage. Ospreys and bald eagles may soar overhead, and wild ponies often wander the shoreline of Assateague Island nearby—setting the tone for what’s ahead.

Once anchored, enjoy a full hour of guided yoga on deck while Alyosha floats gently at anchor. The practice is suitable for all levels—grounding, gentle strength, and deep relaxation, all accompanied by fresh air, open sky, and sweeping views of the bay. We’ll close with time to unwind and socialize before heading back, refreshed and reconnected with nature.

Who Is This Trip For?

Anyone who wants to start their day with something meaningful. Whether you’re a regular yoga practitioner or someone who’s never unrolled a mat, this experience meets you where you are. It’s ideal for couples, friends, solo travelers, or anyone looking for a morning that feels like a reset button. No sailing experience required—Alyosha does all the work while you focus on being present.

What to Expect

Close to two hours on the water, with the centerpiece being a guided yoga session on Alyosha’s spacious deck. The catamaran provides a remarkably stable platform—wide, flat, and steady at anchor. You’ll practice with the sounds of the bay around you: water lapping against the hulls, birds overhead, and the occasional splash from the shallows.

This is a bay experience—calm, protected waters with virtually no motion. Think of it as yoga in the most beautiful outdoor studio you’ve ever seen, except the floor gently floats.

A Note on Motion Sickness

This trip takes place at anchor in a calm bay—there’s virtually no motion to speak of. If you’re comfortable on a dock, you’ll be comfortable here. Seasickness is not a realistic concern for this experience.

Group Minimum

With a yoga instructor onboard, there is a 6-person minimum for this trip to run. Don’t let that stop you from booking—if we don’t hit the minimum, you’ll receive a full refund. But we’d love to have you, so book it and help us get there.

What to Bring

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in—think yoga gear or anything you’d be happy stretching in on a warm morning. Alyosha has plenty of bottled water for guests. Feel free to bring any food or drinks you’d like onboard as well.

Sunscreen and sunglasses are a good idea, especially on bright mornings. Alyosha has a roomy salon area and cabins if you need shade, but the real magic happens outside on deck. Restrooms (“heads”) are aboard—just keep in mind the toilets on a sailboat are a little more sensitive than the ones on land.

Getting Here

Trips depart promptly at the scheduled time from Olde Towne Marina (307 Dorchester Street). Check in with our staff at our shed or come directly to the boat at the end of the dock. You can’t miss Alyosha—we’re the only sailing vessel around. Parking can be limited, so arrive early.
